India is very rightly known as the land of festivals. It is said that there are more festivals in India than there are days of the year. Foreigners are often baffled by all these festivities, colour, rituals and joviality but it is just routine life for Indians. Many of these festivals are being observed and celebrated since time immemorial and finds mention in the scriptures as well. It is nothing short of a legacy that has been handed over from the ancient times. A land filled with diverse religions and cultures like Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and others all have their own festivals and special occasions.
